Fun Mini Vacation

It was time for the Ercanbrack reunion so we decided to be tourists in Salt Lake for a few days before it. When we got to Little America there were these little plates of goodies... Absolutely Fabulous. Derek and Holly suprised all of us with these very cool treats. Most of us girls headed down to our favorite A-1 nail Spa to get pedicures. It was bliss, being pampered, just sitting there getting a massage and beautiful feet! Next to Rodizeos to celebrate the girls' birthday. It was delicious of course and the girls got a great noisy Brazilian version of Happy Birthday.
The next morning we went to This is the Place Monument it is... WOW! Cam, Mal, and Ty wanted pioneer hats to get in the spirit of thinks

Petting farm, wagon rides, basket weaving, train rides, Brigham Young's summer home though he never lived there just some of his wives, churned butter and horse riding were just a few of the things offered there. When it got to be close to 100 we felt so blessed to be born in this age and headed for our air conditioned cars, shorts and the Children's Museum.

Where we put on a play of the 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf. He howled so fiercely. Played in the balls that were a beehive. Built at the construction site, played in the city and farm, rock climbed, got artsy, built inventions, played in the water, visited the helicopter and Hyrums favorite a little place for wee people. He loved this slide and he was determined to get up it after every slide down. It was such a cool place we defiantly will go again!
The next day we hit SEVEN PEAKS for the reunion. I was so busy playing I didn't take many pictures. Derek and Cam went down the yellow slide. They were very brave. Then Bay, Greg and I went down the blue slide. It was breath taking literally. You caught air when you shot out of the tube. Then it ripped a scream from your throat. It was great!
We stayed in Orem at the Hampton then came home on Sunday. Mini Vactions are great, of course I love to just get away and have fun, anywhere!

THE BEAR

About a month ago I was letting the cat in when I heard a noise over by the trash. I glanced over and there was this mangy hairy bear. I was so shocked I gave a little squeek and ran to tell Bay (who had gone to bed) I apparently was a smidge excited when I told him and scared the begebers out of him. But he didn't get to see it. When we got up in the morning the bear had dragged the trash can over this huge redneck pile of wire and wedged it between Bays truck and the chainlink fence. UGH! It scattered trash everywhere bent the trash can and walk over bays truck.

I called the DOW. They weren't to concerned "the bear hasn't been aggressive to people" was what I was told. "Put the trash in the garage (Which is full of the redneck wire spilling onto the driveway) or buy a bear proof can. " "If people would just take care of their trash the bear whould go away." So I checked on a bear proof can. And absolutely NOT it was 500.00! So over the course of the next few weeks the bear was in our trash every night. I would stay up and it would alway come at 11:00 pm. So I would go out and yell and scream at it and it would run off. Then the next morning I would call the DOW. Soon it got to where they wouldn't answer or return my calls. Then one morning at about 10:00am we were driving down the road and there right in the middle of the road was the bear! Right in a kindof busy road. Oh my heck I thought they have to listen to me now!! So we pulled up a little closer and the bear ran to a tree like it was going to climb it and I rolled down the window and stared it in the eyes and took a few pictures with my cell phone. Before it ran off.
I called the DOW yet again and they again didn't respond. It continued to get into our trash for the next few weeks and now for the last week it hasn't been around. I think it is too hot. When it cools down I sure it will be back and I will be ready! I will let the DOW know that I am a very good shot and if they don't come trap it, I will deal with the bear myself!
